Department of Energy (DOE) is making available almost $300 million dollars in rebates for those who purchase high-efficiency household appliances, furnaces, and air-conditioning systems. Similar to the “cash for clunkers” program but with appliances. Check-in with your local utility company or the Energy Star website for a list of what states and territories are participating in the program. While your own the Energy Star website check the “rebate finder” tool to help find even more savings in your zip code.
